We love pizza in our house. We even opted for pizza for our rehearsal dinner (fancy pizza and cheeses and meats, but pizza none the less). It is our dream to have a pizza oven, but until that comes to fruition, pizza on the grill is a very close second. We've been grilling pizza for some time, usually making it with pizza dough. However my husband's coworker recently tipped us off to using naan bread as a pizza crust. We tried it on the grill and IT.IS.EVERYTHING. If you like coal fired pizza, this is the easiest and yummiest way to get that same taste at home. Ingredients: Naan (we buy a family pack and we each make an individual sized pizza). Olive Oil Spices to taste (I like basil and oregano) Tomato Sauce (I'm loving Victoria as of late) Shredded Mozzarella Fresh Mozzarella Cherry or grape tomatoes Fresh Basil Prosciutto I like to cut all the ingredients up first because once the naan goes on the grill, its a quick process! To make the pizza, heat up your grill. Brush one side of the naan with olive oil and place on the grill olive oil side down. Allow it to crisp up (it goes quick so don't take your eyes off). While its crisping brush olive oil on the side facing you and flip so that both sides get a crispy finish. Add your tomato sauce and spices and wait until the sauce warms up before adding your cheese. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella evenly and then put globs of cut up fresh mozzarella. Add your tomatoes. Once the cheese is melted add your fresh basil leaves and let them heat for a minute before adding the prosciutto. Remove from the grill and add a final drizzle of olive oil or balsamic to taste. That's it! It takes mere minutes and its delicious, I promise it will change pizza night for ever! What's your favorite pizza topping?
